FTSE China A50
This stock market Index appeared in 2003 as a consequence of combining the quotations of the largest elements of the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Shenzhen Stock Exchange, which allowed investors to have access to the domestic Chinese market.
The Index offers an optimal balance between representativeness and tradeability for the Chinese stock market. It can be used as the basis for exchange-traded and over-the-counter derivatives, mutual funds and ETFs. The Index includes a total of 50 companies.
The top representatives of the list are:
- Agricultural Bank of China;
- China International Travel Service;
- Kweichow Moutai;
- Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China;
- Wuliangye Yibin.
Each company represented is strictly regulated under the supervision of the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor, and Renminbi Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor.
Nifty 50
This Index displays the value of India’s 50 most advanced companies from various sectors: engineering, industry, pharmaceuticals, energy, financial services, food, etc.
The Index was founded in 1996, allowing investors to make money on the price fluctuations of domestic companies in India. In total, the Index includes the performance of 50 leading companies.
The Nifty 50 as an index is used for several purposes, such as tracking broader market movements, benchmarking fund portfolios, launching index funds, exchange-traded funds, and structured products.
The top representatives of the list are:
- Oil and Natural Gas Corporation;
- Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories;
- Nestlé India;
- Wipro;
- State Bank of India.
Each company files regular reports and is supervised by the Ministry of Finance, The Securities and Exchange Board of India, and The Reserve Bank of India.
